Would you ask a hairdresser for a free cut?
Would you request an oil change for your car from a garage, on the house?
Would you suggest to a gardener to trim a tree or two so you can get an idea of how he works?
Would you expect to receive a serving of a dish at a restaurant at no cost?

Probably not.

Sometimes people ask me to work for free. Last month someone asked me to edit two pages, as a sample. Last week a company representative requested a rewrite of their marketing blurb,  to give her a taste of what I can do.

Sorry. I don’t do that.

So how can you be assured of my professionalism?

  • I can give written references and let you speak with people with whom I have worked.
  • I can show examples of how an edited page looks, after I have worked on it.
  • I have worked profitably in the business for many years.
  • I am happy to do a small job (for pay) before committing to larger ones.
  • I can accurately estimate how much a job will cost.
